Viking Knit comes from wrapping and
weaving wires. The wires can be silver,
bronze, copper, or even gold. Viking knit is reminiscent of chainmail which was worn by the Celts in the 4th Century.
The
Vikings learned how to make chainnmail as did other Europeans from the Celts.
Chainmail was worn throughout the Middleages
for body armour. Artists throughout the ages have
taken ideas from one use and adapted
them into their art work.
